This integrated engineering file models the technical, mechanical, food, sanitary and energy subsystems for the LPT INC. camp platform (6 to 136 occupants). It sets A-to-Z feasibility, a Canadian and Quebec supply chain, and an execution method for a nordic pilot. It is not intended for construction. OIQ seals belong to the engineers named on the file.
System 01
Nordic envelope. Soprema boards. Target R, not an insulation bid.
Soprema sits in Drummondville. We cite their sheets. We are not a dealer. The camp envelope is sized at −40 °C, not only at 24 °C.
What Soprema makes — and what LPT does not invent
SOPREMA inc., 1688 Jean-Berchmans-Michaud, Drummondville, Quebec. Insulation boards, not camp modules. LPT integrates a target supply chain. Not exclusive. Not an LPT plant.
SOPRA-ISO: closed-cell polyiso, organic glass-fibre facer. SOPRA-ISO PLUS: polymer-coated glass facers. Sizes 4×4 and 4×8 ft. Thickness 1–6 in; SL (shiplap) up to 8 in. Density ~2.0 pcf. 20 or 25 psi.
SOPRA-XPS: extruded polystyrene. Long-term R about 5.0 per inch even in the cold. XPS 20 for walls; 30 for foundations; 40/60/100 for heavy load and inverted roofs.
Study target R-40 / R-50
SOPRA-ISO LTTR is at 24 °C. Polyiso loses R below −10 °C. Soprema claims a better cold curve than typical Canadian polyiso — not R-5.7 at −40 °C. The study stacks polyiso inside and XPS outside.
- Wall: 2 × 76 mm SOPRA-ISO PLUS, staggered (~R-34.8 at 24 °C) + 51 mm SOPRA-XPS 20 continuous (~R-11.0). Nominal ~R-46 at 24 °C. Winter effective target: R-40 after polyiso derate.
- Roof: 2 × 76 mm SOPRA-ISO PLUS + 12.7 mm PLUS HD + Soprema membrane on the sealed file. Roof target R-50 in layers.
- Floor / piles: SOPRA-XPS 40 or 60 under the module — compression and moisture, not polyiso on grade.
- Soprema wants multiple layers to cut thermal bridging. One 8-inch board is not the study detail.
Service temperature and nordic job
SOPRA-ISO+ sheet: −40 °F to 250 °F. That allows the use. It does not seal the NBC U-calculation. U-values, bridges, Parker module joints and blower-door (< 1.0 ACH@50 Pa plant target) stay with the OIQ file.
Boards ship from Drummondville. They are not a CSA A277 structural sandwich. Structure is the module. Soprema is the thermal core of the envelope.
Published Soprema LTTR (24 °C) — not jobsite R at −40 °C

System 02
Kitchen, dining, cold rooms. Forward flow.
One or two seatings. Clean and dirty flows never cross. The study sizes it. It does not hang the pot.
Sanitary forward flow
- 01Receiving dock
- 02Cold / dry storage
- 03Meat / vegetable prep
- 04Cook line and service
- 05Dining room
- 06Dishwash and waste
Areas and zoning
The study sizes the complex for 136 residents, one or two seatings. Dining 120 m² — 68 seats, two 45-minute turns — or 210 m² for a single seating. Cook and prep 45 m², AISI 304. Cold 36 m². Dry store 25 m².
These are design areas. The building freezes after geotech, Code and OIQ seals. Not before.
